Auberge Ostape, a hotel and restaurant in Bidarray

An intimate refuge

Our intimate hotel and restaurant in Bidarray, in the heart of the Basque backcountry, is surrounded by two ancient mountains, Mount Baïgura and Mount Artzamendi, and is just 35 minutes from Biarritz and 40 minutes from Saint-Jean-de-Luz on the coast. Halfway between the ocean and the mountains, this is an unexpected place that appears, as if by magic, at a bend in the road, set in the midst of a majestic natural landscape. Here, green is synonymous with happiness.

Auberge Ostape in Bidarray is home to a quite singular atmosphere that will captivate you from the very first without even realizing why. To stay at Ostape is to experience the power and serenity of the elements, to feel instantly Basque, to commune with nature and to experience, deep within you, the pulsating force of this ancient land. Far from the classic codes of luxury hotels, the 5-star Auberge Ostape offers you the chance to enjoy a period of intense reconnection with the emotion of life itself.

An old limestone farmhouse with oxblood shutters, a 45-hectare hillside estate, 26 rooms and suites, dotted between five country cottages, a gourmet restaurant, a soothing spa, and a magnificent rural setting: Auberge Ostape speaks to the heart.
